ACP, Mechanic Get Life Jail Sentence About Stolen Car

An Ekiti Condition High Court docket, sitting down in Ado Ekiti has sentenced an Assistant Commissioner of Police, Okubo Aboye and his mechanic, Niyi Ibrahim Afolabi  to existence imprisonment for obtaining a stolen motor vehicle.

Aboye, 57, and Afolabi, 39, had been sentenced for obtaining stolen automobiles from kidnap suspects.

The court also sentenced 7 other persons, particularly, Solomon Ayodele Obamoyegun 39, Femi Omiawe 40, Damilola Obamoyegun 20,Bose Sade Ajayi 30, George Blessed 35, Chukwuma Nnamani 22, and Sunday Ogunleye 45 to 5 a long time imprisonment each with no an selection of good for kidnapping.

The police boss was explained to be in service as at the time the offence was committed just before he was dismissed.

The investigating law enforcement officers, in their testimony explained, the vehicle was tracked to the compound of ACP Aboye , who on interrogation confessed that he purchased the Hilux Van from his mechanic who obtained it from the kidnappers.

The offence contravened sections 346(2), 1(2)a, and area 5 of the Criminal Code Cap C16 guidelines of Ekiti State, 2012 and Robbery and firearms distinctive provisions Act, Cap R11, guidelines of the federation of Nigeria, 2004.

Justice John Adeyeye though delivering his judgement identified the two accused people guilty and sentenced them to lifetime imprisonment appropriately.
