The officer, identified as 54-year-previous Officer Joseph Montgomery, was included in a solitary-car crash on the freeway at College Push just just before 8:30 a.m.

The Arizona Office of Public Basic safety reported Montgomery may possibly have struck a wall on the freeway.
A spokesperson with ASU police reported Montgomery was on his way to get the job done when the crash transpired.
He was pronounced dead at a nearby medical center, the section claimed.
Officer Montgomery was with the ASU Law enforcement Section for 13 many years. He usually patrolled the downtown Phoenix campus.
He is survived by his wife and four grown young children.
“It’s a extremely difficult scenario. You under no circumstances want to lose an officer and with as revered as he was getting below for 13 many years — and that is some longevity especially with our division — so it’s a big decline and it’ll leave a substantial void,” Adam Wolfe, an ASU law enforcement spokesperson, reported.
The crash scene blocked the College Drive off-ramp.
The trigger of the crash is below investigation. DPS is investigating the crash.
Rest In Peace Officer Montgomery.
