EPSO receives donation of 24 bulletproof vests from Giles Automotive

A bulletproof vest can be the variance involving lifetime and dying for regulation enforcement officers. A community car or truck dealership reached out to the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office environment, to order a spherical of vests for all of it’s deputies.

Evangeline Parish Sheriff Charles Guillory suggests this donation will help hold deputes protected. “If it suits perfectly, it will protect the officer. Which is the distinction,” said Guillory.

Customers of the sheriff’s office joined Sheriff Guillory and Bob Giles, from Giles Automotive, to receive the donation of 24 bulletproof vests. The vests expense $14,000.

“It will find the money for them to do a superior position, to conduct their duties in a secure and qualified way, and possibly, at some point, save the lifestyle of an officer. I don’t think you can place a price on that,” claimed Giles.

The new vests will switch the outdated kinds, that were being 15 decades aged, worn out, and just did not suit some deputies. It’s required business coverage for all deputies to have on a person.

“Since I have been sheriff, no one particular has been shot at. No 1 has been hit with a bullet where it hit the bulletproof vest. We hope that does not come about,” said Guillory.

Giles encourages other organization to do much more for the community.
