ENFIELD — A fire originating from a car in an automotive dealership Friday morning spread throughout the building, taking the town’s five fire departments hours to extinguish.
North Thompsonville Deputy Fire Chief David Lapponese said Friday afternoon that crews were dispatched around 8:50 a.m. to a call for a car fire at Artioli Chrysler Dodge on Enfield Street.
“The fire had spread into the service area, besides the vehicle that was on fire,” Lapponese said.
Lapponese said the fire ultimately made its way into the showroom, and was put under control around between 10:30 and 11 a.m.
Lapponese said all five of the town’s fire departments responded to the scene, with nearby towns covering during their response.
Lapponese said the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
