CLEVELAND, Ohio — A car racing another vehicle on a street in the Slavic Village neighborhood early Thursday morning collided head-on with a motorcycle, killing the bike’s driver and passenger, police say.

Brianca Palmer, 32, of Buffalo, N.Y., a passenger on the 1998 Honda motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office. Palmer suffered multiple blunt-force injuries, the ME’s office says.

Bobby Henry, 22, of Maple Heights, who was driving the motorcycle, was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center but died of his injuries. Henry also suffered multiple blunt-force injuries, according to the ME’s office.

Police say the crash occurred at about 2:40 a.m. as a 2014 Mazda and 2017 Honda raced west on Broadway Avenue. The Mazda was racing west in the eastbound lanes, police say.

The motorcycle was driving east on Broadway when it was hit by the Mazda. The driver and a passenger in the Mazda left the car after the crash and ran away. The driver of the Honda vehicle did not stop after the crash, police say.

No other details were released Thursday. No arrests have been made.
