BURTON, MI — One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle in Burton early Tuesday afternoon.

Burton police responded to the intersection of Bristol Road and Columbine Avenue around 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, following reports of a crash involving a motorcycle. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a multicolored motorcycle on the ground and a gray Lincoln Mark LT in the intersection.

Witnesses said the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed east on Bristol Road, according to police. The Lincoln was turning left from northbound Columbine Avenue to westbound Bristol Road when the motorcycle hit the Lincoln on the driver’s door.

The driver of the Lincoln, a 57-year-old male from Clio, was uninjured.  The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified by police as 27-year-old Shawn Price of Burton. He was not wearing a helmet.
